It was DC 7th grade and NYC 8th, I think they went to Boston back in 6th but I can’t remember
i think i hate you guys because i only ever got to go to NYC!!! not boston or DC…even going to montreal wouldve been cool (like hELLO I WENT TO MONTREAL IN THIRD GRADE WHY CANT I GO IN EIGHTH GRADE) in my eighth grade year we ended up going canoeing/kayaking and camping, which i ended up really liking the kayaking, but it was like…seriously

Yeah but I did have fun for the most part. The one good thing about the hostel in DC was that you could take your mattress into someone else’s room and have a sleepover sort of thing.
haha yeah we definitely couldnt do that. it was four to a room and there was no room for people to sleep on the floor really (and it would be weird since the beds were kind of up high so youd be really above/below someone and that made it hard to really have a “sleepover”)?? did you guys go to DC every year? we went to NYC the year i went, but the next year went to boston, and i was pretty jealous!

I don’t know about that, I just know that the NYC one can be used by schools for trips and that the rooms were fucking tiny and showering in the morning isn’t something you should do. Old ladies stay there too. Once again, not fun.
hahahaha im glad to hear that your field trips werent all that great <3 i was always so jealous that you guys got to go every year for a full week! now i know why you guys could get housing so cheaply…
oh my god in 2003 our congress was actually dumb enough to rename french fries to freedom fries in congressional cafeterias

We stayed at the YMCA and, surprise, surprise, it wasn’t fun.
omg ive always thought that the YMCA is a place for parents who cant get off from work to drop their kids off at. isnt it an after-school care program for kids and like a place for all kids to do stuff if their parents are at work??

I stayed in a hostel during the swift house DC trip. Don’t go to one. They are not fun (and probably don’t have wifi)
ohhh, is that how you guys always got to go for a week and could have all the grades go while most houses went for three days and only grades 7-8 could go?? because that would make a lot of sense…when i want to NYC for our field trip, we stayed in a legit hotel (though it wasnt really that nice tbh)

Nice things are best when someone else is paying.
they really are like if my dad told me that i had to pay for half the expenses or whatever id be like “hell no we are finding the cheapest hostel we can find and that is that” but HAH I DONT HAVE TO PAY
